With $70-million in the coffers after the first two days of Book 1 (up marginally from last year), there have been 19 sires which have had five or more yearlings listed as sold. Gainesway=s Tapit is still almost $3-million clear of Candy Ride on the TDN YTD General Sire List (click here); he had the most yearlings catalogued overall (47) in Book 1; he is tied with Taylor Made=s deceased Unbridled=s Song with the highest number sold in the first two days (19 each); and he is the leading sales sire for the first two days of Keeneland September Book 1, with an average of $573,684, accounting for a little over $10-million of the $70-million two-day gross. The median price for his 19 sold stands at $520,000, and eight Tapit yearlings sold for $700,000 or more. He=s arrived.
